5 Ways to Wear a Kimono (you probably haven't thought of yet)

I love the look of these trendy, boho kimonos but didn't want to purchase them just for wearing to the beach. Because let's be honest, how often does of mom of 3 little ones get to the beach? So I did some Pinterest research and figured out there are lots of ways to wear a kimono. I am no model people, so please go easy on me. ;) But I think it's important to show that these can be worn by regular people with the clothes already in your closet.

So, here are a few of the outfits I threw together with clothes already in my closet:

1) Tied over a spaghetti strap tank top with shorts.

I threw this lightweight polyester kimono on over a tank top and it was so light and airy, it was fabulous for a hot day of blueberry picking with the kids.

2) With colorful pants or jeans

I love colorful pants and jeans but they don't let you wear a lot of other color in your outfit without looking like a clown. So this black and white paisley cotton kimono and black tank top were the perfect combo with these colorful pants.

3) With jeans and sandals

This was the easiest outfit to throw together, just some jeans and a tank top or t-shirt underneath. This is the perfect thing to throw on when I'm out and about.

4) With work pants and a

blouse

Never thought of wearing a kimono to the office? Well think again because it will keep you warm when the air conditioning is blasting out of the vent above your desk! Think of kimonos as a loose-fitting summertime sweater.
