A Cure for Wanderlust

This time of year when summer is coming to an end, I always get a little restless and want to squeeze in as much as I can before the kids go back to school. I just finished reading Vagabonding by Rolf Potts which didn't help my serious case of wanderlust. If you love to travel, I'd definitely recommend checking it out though. So, when I came across this article

"15 Marvelous Trails in Michigan to Hike Before You Die",

http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/michigan/marvelous-trails-mi/, and saw that one of the marvelous trails was only 40 minutes from us, we loaded the kids in the car, and headed out for an adventure.

We headed up to Hall Lake Trail in Gun Lake, MI. The trail was a little wet since we've had a ton of rain lately but that made it all the more exciting for the kids. My three-year-old stopped to show us just about every single mushroom on the trail (don't worry, we didn't let him touch them). My oldest loved leading the way. They starting complaining about 2 miles in but were able to make it the 4 miles with some encouragement and a stop for a picnic lunch. :)

Sometimes, a day without electronics, work, and stress is all you need to feel rejuvenated and ready to start another week. It definitely worked for me. We can't wait to try a few of the other places on the list! Are any of you suffering from a case of wanderlust? If so, share your cures, I'd love hear them!

Have a great week!

XO,

April
