Hi friends,

I've had this new feeling lately. It's like a vulnerable and open sensation that happens whenever I'm around other people, I just feel this yearning to KNOW them and connect on a deeper level than just discussing the weather. With all of the darkness I've seen in the news lately surrounding our country, it feels like our souls are reaching out to each other for light and connection. Do you feel that? Maybe I'm just crazy. Anyway, I believe it is because of a deep yearning to connect with others regardless of our differences, that this time of the year is so special to us all. It's a time to give thanks for our blessings and spread compassion and joy to others.

So, in this season of giving, we are raising money for Feeding America to provide, through its network of food banks, meals to the 1 in 8 Americans who may not know where their next meal is coming from.

What are we bringing to the table for those facing hunger? We will donate 15% of all proceeds for the next 3 months to Feeding America. We're also giving away this beautiful, fair trade, Giving Angel Ornament to anyone who purchases in December.

Why Feeding America, a national charity, you ask?

As Ubuntu Goods continues to grow, we now have Brand Reps across the United States. In an effort to give back to a charity that all of our brand reps can get excited about we have chosen Feeding America, because they provide a substantial amount of food to pantries all across the United States.
40% of the food provided by Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, one of the largest food pantries in Kalamazoo, is provided by Feeding America. So, even though we have chosen to support a national charity, I am still giving back to a local charity that is dear to my heart.
Feeding America also has a location in San Diego, our Director of Operations, Lindsay's hometown, called Feeding San Diego that feeds more than 63,000 children, families, and seniors every week.

We have set a goal to raise $2,000 because we want to end hunger in this country.
